Hurricane Structure
The Main structure of a Hurricane consist of the following:
- Spiral rainbands which are made up of lines of thunderstorms that contain heavy precipitation.
- The Eyewall which is a thick wall of clouds surrounding the eye. Here is where the strongest winds exist.
- The Eye which is an area at the center of the storm where winds are calm and the sky is almost cloud free.
Hurricane Isabel occurred on Septmeber 11, 2003.
